Red Sauce (Buttery Basil) (Alan)

In order add the following in a pan on medium high heat.  Turn off heat once it starts to splatter.

  • 1 passata jar
  • 1 Bay leaf
  • heafty amount of dried basil.  About 4-6 full pinches.
  • salt & pepper 2-3 pinches each
  • touch of cayenne for hum of heat at the end. 1 pinch.
  • 1 large piece of garlic.
  • 1/4 cup milk.   Prefereably heavy cream.  If heavy cream, just add 1/8 cup butter.
  • Just less than 1/4 cup butter still untill melted. 0.7mm from a brick of butter.
